Inflammation and cancer
Metastasis formation and unresponsiveness to conventional therapies are the challenges in cancer patient care that urgently need solutions. The overall goal of our research is to gain novel mechanistic insights into how the immune system influences these processes, with a primary focus on breast cancer.
To achieve this, we exploit our combined expertise in tumor biology and immunology, and we utilize pre-clinical mouse models that faithfully recapitulate human breast tumorigenesis in combination with immune profiling studies in breast cancer patients.
