Core Facility Molecular Pathology & Biobanking
The CFMPB (founded in 2010) is established to ensure that human biospecimens are used properly and efficiently, especially in the case of scarce, valuable samples. The facility provides professional expertise and support regarding medical-ethical and legal issues.
The CFMPB registers, evaluates, coordinates, assists and facilitates all kind of research involving human biospecimens (e.g. serum, blood, ctDNA, FFPE and FF biopsies, DNA & RNA). All CFMPB activities are supported by our web application ‘the Application and Request Tool’ ART, an online tool for IRB registration & review and our LIMS & database.
Our expertise
Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded Human Appendix triple stained for PD1 (Yellow) - CD8 (Teal) - CD103 (Purple)
Multiplex (triple) immuno histochemical staining
Multiplex (triple) immuno histochemical staining is performed on a Discovery Ultra stainer (Ventana Medical Systems)
using different colors of chromogenic substrates instead of fluorochromes.
One of the advantages of using chromogenic substrates is that the morphology of the tissues stays visible.
