His research shows that the incidence of cancer among AYAs has increased tremendously over the past thirty years. The survival rates after cancer have increased over these years and the mortality rates have decreased. The five-year relative survival for all cancer types among the AYA population is now over 80% but has remained relatively poor (< 60%) for certain cancer types.
