This research line is being conducted in close collaboration with the NKI-AVL family cancer clinic. It comprises a number of studies which are focused on three psychosocial themes in genetic counseling for cancer:

1) the uptake and long-term psychosocial impact of genetic counseling and testing and risk-reducing behavior;
2) early detection of psychosocial problems and the development of psycho-educational interventions;
3) the organization of the psychosocial healthcare for cancer patients and their high risk relatives.
