In August 2023, I started as a PhD-student on the OPTIONS study. This project focuses on women with an increased breast cancer risk due to pathogenic variant in one of the breast cancer genes. In the first part of this project, we aim to gain insight in what choices these women have made and on the impact of these choices. Secondly, we aim to develop and evaluate tools to support decision-making regarding risk-management: a decision-aid for female carriers and an e-learning for healthcare professionals.

Work experience: 

  • 2011-2015: obtained my Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy from Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven
  • 2015-2022: Radiographer with ultrasound specialization in the hospital SJG Weert
  • 2019-2022: obtained my (pre-) Master’s degree (MSc) in Clinical Sciences for Health Professionals from Utrecht University. Within my Master’s studies I performed a research internship at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in the group of Olga Husson.
  • 2022-2023: Policy and Quality Advisor at the department Quality and Safety in the hospital SJG Weert
