I am a PhD student focusing on studying Autotaxin (ATX), specifically the mechanism by which presents its product lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) to its cognate receptors. I am also interested to study the interaction of Autotaxin with other membrane proteins present on cell surface that are acting as co-receptors. Ultimately we want to use this knowledge to more efficiently target ATX in therapy.

Work experience

During my Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Salamanca, I did two internships. Afterwards, I got my Master’s degree in Biomolecules and Cell dynamics at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where I developed interest in Structural Biology by doing my master thesis at Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO) in Dr. Llorca group.
