Hans Wienk

After my training in analytical chemistry, biophysics, NMR spectroscopy and structural biology, I was manager of the large Dutch NMR facility at Utrecht University for many years. Gradually my activities changed towards research project management and grant support, for instance guiding the EU-wide Horizon2020 structural biology and facility access consortia iNEXT and iNEXT-Discovery.

Currently, at NKI I divide my time between the Perrakis structural biology group and other NKI research groups. I support the researchers and group leaders with forming their (inter)national consortia, with preparing their research grant applications and with guiding projects. In parallel, I participate in EU-wide and national Research Infrastructure networks and sounding boards, and I am the scientific representative for the Netherlands in the Council of Instruct-ERIC, the EU-wide ESFRI Research Infrastructure for structural biology.
