Anastassis Perrakis

Dimitra Feidaiou

My project focuses on Zinc Finger (ZNF) transcription factors, the largest family of gene regulators that control essential processes such as cell differentiation and embryonic development. I will work on the newly discovered co-regulator complex Zincore, which stabilizes specific zinc fingers transcription factors (ZNF) on DNA. My work focuses on understanding how Zincore interacts with ZNFs and connects them to the transcription machinery, and how heterogeneity within Zincore complexes contributes to their diverse functions. This work has important implications for understanding how misregulation of these processes can lead to developmental disorders and cancer.
