  • Theme: Late effects of cancer therapy

Late effects of cancer therapy

Cancer treatment carries the risk of unwanted, long-term (“late”) adverse effects. Our group is focused on the risk of subsequent primary cancers and cardiovascular disease related to treatment for a first primary cancer. In particular, we are interested in the genetic factors that modify the risk of treatment-associated late effects. The long-term goal of this research theme is to identify survivors with lower and higher risks and develop personalized screening plans for cancer and cardiovascular disease.
