Sofia Saavedra Ravest

I grew up in Vienna. Currently, I am a third-year science major at Amsterdam University College (AUC). In my studies I focus primarily on biology and environmental sciences, however throughout the past year I have become especially interested in (epi)genetics. This can also be attributed to the great course ‘Epigenetic Regulations’, taught by Fred van Leeuwen, that I took last semester.

During my studies at AUC, I have written papers on alternative treatments to antibiotic resistance making use of bacteriophages and on the role of POU2F2 in oncogene-induced senescence, amongst other topics.
