Anastassis Perrakis

Ren Xie

I had a cross-over journey of biochemistry. I had a formal education in biochemistry and plenty of experience in the laboratory. With my second master of bioinformatics, I now wish to implement and develop artificial intelligence methods in structural biology. Ultimately, I wish these methods can enable de-novo protein design and accelerate drug discovery.
I work as a research assistant in the Perrakis group, intending to develop artificial intelligence methods to complement AI-predicted protein structures and develop tools to empower model building in cryo-EM experimental maps. The ultimate goal of the project is to use artificial intelligence to facilitate research in structural biology.
