Nida Huijben

In January 2025 I joined the group of Martijn Stuiver, where I will focus on my PhD at the department of Psychosocial Research and Epidemiology. I will be working on a multicenter randomized controlled trial, known as the SICILY study. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of a supervised exercise program on persistent chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy.

This project aligns well with my background in physiotherapy. Having worked with patients, I’ve witnessed how movement-based interventions can make a significant difference in managing symptoms and improving outcomes including quality of life. I am therefore looking forward to contribute to research exploring the potential of an exercise program on this common side effect of systemic cancer treatment.
