Lina Lankhorst

Lina Lankhorst is a PhD candidate at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Her research is focused on the quality of life of Adolescents and Young Adults (AYAs) with advanced cancer receiving comprehensive genomic analysis as part of their diagnostic and treatment trajectory. She coordinates the GENAYA project at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, a pioneering initiative that collects whole genome sequencing data from 1,000 AYA patients into a globally unique database. Lina Lankhorst holds a Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences and a Master’s in Oncology from Utrecht University, where she did internships at the Princess Máxima Centre for Paediatric Oncology and at the Netherlands Comprehensive Cancer Organisation (IKNL), gaining valuable skills in science communication. Passionate about personalized cancer treatment for young adults, Lina emphasizes the importance of understanding patient desires and making research accessible to both patients and the broader public.
