Postdoc and Project leader at the Division of Clinical Immunology/Rheumatology. Research projects: “Functional properties of chemokines and chemokine receptors in inflammatory joint disease (rheumatoid arthritis, RA)”, and “Functional characterization of dendritic cell subsets in RA and in animal models for RA”.
1998-2002
I obtained my PhD with the project “Initiation and regulation of specific immune responses by keratinocytes and dendritic cells” (http://dare.uva.nl/document/101513) at the Department of Cell Biology and Histology, Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Supervisors: Prof. Dr. M.L. Kapsenberg and Dr. E.C. de Jong.
1997-1998
As junior researcher I participated in a collaborative research from the lab of Martien Kapsenberg and HAL Allergy.
1994-1996
I obtained a master’s degree in Immunology from the University of Porto, Portugal. Within the Master’s studies I performed a research internship at the Academic Medical Center in the lab of Martien Kapsenberg.
1988-1993
Obtained my master’s degree in Biology from the University of Porto, Portugal.1993-1994: Biology teacher in secondary school in São Mamede de Infesta, Portugal.
