In March 2026, I joined the cognition group of Sanne Schagen as a PhD student. Cognitive problems are a significant concern after cancer and its treatment. These problems are not exclusive to individuals with central nervous system cancer (e.g. brain tumors), but affect a broader range of people undergoing cancer treatment. These cognitive problems can significantly impact daily functioning. My project focuses on developing a questionnaire to assess cognitively complex instrumental daily life activities in non-CNS cancer patients, i.e. all types of cancer that do not involve the brain, to capture the real-world impact of cancer treatments on daily life functioning.
