Tomorrow Gerjon Ikink will defend his thesis on the discovery of genes involved in breast cancer. Genes called ERAS and IRS4 turn out to be responsible for breast tumor (HER2+) growth and resistance to commonly used targeted therapies. New drugs aiming to block this resistance mechanism are already being developed. Good luck tomorrow Gerjon!
