Tim Veenboer

My university background lies in History and Artificial Intelligence. I initially finished a bachelor's degree in History, but decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence afterwards due to a natural curiosity for computers that I developed from a young age. Thereafter, I completed a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence where I completed my thesis research project at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.

This project persuaded me on continuing in the field of medical AI, specifically Foundation Models for medical AI. I'm currently employed as a PhD candidate, working on these aforementioned topics. Specifically, I'm applying Self-Supervised Learning (SSL) techniques on large sets of Computed Tomography (CT) data. The goal is to create holistic base models with robust expertise in oncological imaging.
