I started out as a pure mathematician in algebra and geometry with most of my experience being in low dimensional (2D and 3D) geometric topology. With a desire to use my theoretical knowledge in direct practical environments I took the opportunity to advance into the field of imaging by means of the master Medical Imaging at the Graduate School of Life Sciences from Utrecht University.

In 2022 I became a PhD student in the group of Theo Ruers after graduating from the Medical Imaging master. Currently my research is focused on tissue characterization utilizing the optical techniques Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIm) and Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS) in order to intraoperatively detect tumor tissue.
