After obtaining my medical degree at the VUMC in Amsterdam, my main objective was to gain experience in the medical field. Practicing medicine in the Netherlands and abroad made me realize the importance of research and individualized medicine. Thus being the main objective of my PhD within the Sabine Linn group.
Specifically I will be searching for biomarkers that help predict tumor response enabling a more personalized treatment in breast cancer. I will be coordinating the Triple-B study; in which we combine immunotherapy with chemotherapy in patients with advanced triple-negative breast cancer, and the POSEIDON II study; targeting the PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway in patients with hormone receptor positive lobular breast cancer.
