Robin Jansen

In February 2020, I joined the lab of Prof. dr. René Bernards as a PhD student. My project is focused on precision medicine and affordable healthcare. The aim is to repurpose existing patent-expired and abandoned drugs by exploring new indications.

These drugs failed as single agent, but could be effective in a combination treatment and/or different cancer type. In order to find effective drug combinations, we use synthetic lethality screens between the drug and gene knockout in rare cancer types, which are often neglected.
