I joined the group of Titia Sixma as a PhD student in December 2021.
My project focuses on RAD6/RAD18 dependent PCNA ubiquitination and how this mechanism is allosterically regulated. PCNA ubiquitination initiates essential DNA damage tolerance (DDT) pathways, wherefore the process is tightly regulated. With the help of cryo-EM and biochemical analyses, I’m trying to gain more insight into the mechanism and molecular details of this regulation on the RAD6/RAD18 level.
