Early 2021, I graduated for the master Technical Medicine at the University of Twente. During this study, I did several internships at different hospitals throughout the Netherlands in which I developed a high interest for the clinical application of new devices or techniques in the surgical field, such as image guided surgery. Therefore, I did my graduation internship at the surgical oncology department of the NKI, focusing on the application of tracked ultrasound for patient registration prior to surgical navigation. Right now, as a member of the clinical implementation team, I am continuing this research with the goal to further improve the surgical navigation technique and workflow in the operating theatre.
