Mariëlle Kingma is a project coordinator in AYA care, working to improve care pathways and digital integration for adolescents and young adults with cancer. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in 2013 and spent several years working as a physiotherapist, (personal) trainer and lifestyle coach combining movement, nutrition and overall well being in a holistic approach to health. Her growing interest in prevention and behavior change eventually led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Health Psychology.
During her Master’s, she became increasingly curious about research and how evidence can shape better healthcare. That interest brought her to the DRIVE-AYA project, where she gained hands on experience in AYA-focused research and patient-centered care. She now works as project coordinator AYA Zorgpad & EPD and regional coordinator for AYA care in the South-West region (LUMC), using her multidisciplinary background to help strengthen and innovate AYA care.
