In 2019 I graduated from the University of Technology in Delft with a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. During my studies I conducted research at the Amsterdam UMC, SINTEF Medical Technology and Philips Research. While finalizing my Master's, I became driven to contribute to medical innovations and to overcome current challenges of implementing technology into clinical practice. Now, as a PhD student in Theo Ruers' group, I have the opportunity to closely experience surgical difficulties in oncology and to seek for technical solutions that can be properly translated to the surgeons' perspective and implemented within the surgical workflow.

My current research is focused on the application of hyperspectral imaging during surgery, to enable the surgeon to remove tumorous tissue more accurately and thus to prevent the necessity to perform additional treatment.
