Lana Meiqari

For the last five years, I have been working on my PhD project at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, focusing on continuity of hypertension care at primary health care in resource-constrained settings with Vietnam as a case study. At NKI, I work with the data team of the Translational Gastrointestinal Oncology (TGO) group in a multi-disciplinary setting to plan and execute data management tasks for a variety of research projects and to support researchers in managing datasets and effectively use the data-related tools within Health-RI Network and other data infrastructure platforms.

Work experience

I received my medical degree from Damascus University, Syria (2007), and obtained a master of science in public health with an emphasis on epidemiology from Emory University, USA (2012).

I joined NKI in May 2019 and has previously worked with international and local humanitarian organizations on their health relief efforts in the Middle East in domains such as primary health care, reproductive health, early warning surveillance, and coordination.
