I am a Health Scientist by training and have been studying quality of care and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) since 2014. In March 2020, I started my postdoc at the Van de Poll Group. My current research focuses on the implementation of Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in the daily clinical hospital practice. On the one hand, I study the way PROMs should be implemented in clinical care to increase patient-centered care, including ways to feedback PROMs to patients and healthcare providers, but also evaluate the actual implementation of PROMs in our institute. On the other hand, I look at the aggregated results of PROMs: how is the health-related quality of life and functioning in patients who are or have been treated for cancer, which problems do they encounter, and what needs may they have?

Besides doing research, I am a project lead responsible for the implementation of PROMs in our hospital, thereby including as much of our findings directly into the clinical setting to improve healthcare for cancer patients treated at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek.
