I was trained as a pharmacist at the University of Bonn, Germany, where I also obtained a MSc in Drug Research specializing in biotechnology. After working at a pharmaceutical company on drug product development, I obtained a PhD degree at Utrecht University. My PhD project focused on the development of sustained release formulations of growth factors as vascularization approaches for diabetes-reversing implants.
Currently, I work on the development and production of immunotherapeutic products in the in-house GMP facility of the NKI. My interest lies in cell therapies and other ATMPs, specifically in the clinical translation of these novel treatment options.
