In July 2021 I obtained my Master’s degree in Technical Medicine, a collaboration between the TU Delft, the Erasmus University and the Leiden University, where I chose to specialize in field of imaging and interventions. My graduation project was performed at the surgical oncology department of the NKI, where I focused on new techniques for navigated open liver surgery.
Minimally invasive liver surgery is becoming more common as this is in general associated with less pain, a shorter hospital stay and fewer complications. However, this procedure can be challenging. Therefore, the focus of my PhD is the clinical implementation of navigation for laparoscopic liver surgery.
