Jeppe van den Burg

In May 2025, I started as a PhD-student in the groups of Koen van der Mijn, Michiel van der Heijden and Andre Bergman.

Alongside my medical training, I also obtained a degree in clinical epidemiology.

My research focuses on optimizing personalized therapy for patients with urologic malignancies. I am currently involved in a prospective clinical trial investigating the effects of neoadjuvant immunotherapy in muscle-invasive urothelial cancer.

In addition, I will investigate promising biomarkers, such as tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and circulating tumor DNA, in both urothelial and prostate cancer and explore the impact of hormone therapy for prostate cancer on the risk of developing a cardiovascular event.
