Janne Brouwer

After completing a Master’s in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology, I joined the Lindeboom lab as a PhD student in June 2025 to dive into the world of transcription factor biology. My research focuses on how the genome code and epigenetic landscape, including chromatin structure, influence transcription factor binding. I aim to uncover both the biological relevance and the molecular mechanisms behind these interactions that regulate gene expression. Using these insights, I plan to develop interpretable deep learning models that can predict genome-wide TF binding in response to proteomic and epigenomic changes, such as those occurring in cancer.
