Jakob Wallentin

I am a biochemist, working on developing technologies to better understand transcription factor and enhancer biology. I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Freie Universität Berlin. 
During that time, I joined the Shendure Lab at the University of Washington, working on molecular recording as well as investigating nucleolar biology.

Motivated to further work in the creative space of technology development in genomics, I joined the van Steensel Group in January 2026.
