Iryna Shakhnenko

Iryna is a Patient Relationship Manager at the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). Her role focuses on ensuring that EORTC research is conducted in partnership with individuals with lived experience of cancer, and that their voices are systematically integrated into all EORTC studies. She believes that key principles such as respectful, open communication, transparency, and fostering a trustworthy, collaborative environment are essential to achieving successful and meaningful patient involvement experience. 

Iryna is also pursuing a PhD at Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam. Her research explores practical strategies for embedding patients’ input throughout the continuum of oncology clinical trials.
