In November 2016, I started my PhD project. Topic:  optimizing rehabilitation and survivorship care in head and neck cancer. My project focuses on (cost-) effectiveness of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program; feasibility of an exercise intervention during head and neck cancer treatment; optimization of PROMs within the domain of participation.

Work experience

  • 2000: Bachelor in Nursing
  • 2002: I started my career in the NKI-AVL. I worked as an oncology nurse in the head and neck department, and since 2011 as case manager for an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program for head and neck cancer patients (HNR-program).
  • 2014: I obtained my Master’s degree (MSc. Clinical epidemiology) at the University of Amsterdam. My Master thesis evaluated the feasibility of the HNR program.
  • I am currently finishing the Master Advanced Nursing Practitioner (Expected Sept 2021).
