Daphne Voormolen joined our group as a postdoctoral researcher in October 2025 and works at both the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Erasmus MC.

Currently, Daphne is involved in multiple research projects, works as coordinator of COMPRAYA and is making plans on how to make COMPRAYA sustainable. In addition, she will primarily work on putting AYA-research on the map more broadly. With a background in health economy, her experience is mainly in economic evaluations, quality of life and well-being. In addition, she also works as a project coordinator for AYA care Netherlands on the DRIVE-AYA project with a focus on financing AYA-care and shared care. Through these two roles, as a researcher and project coordinator, she navigates seamlessly at the intersection of research and policy, all with the main goal of strengthening and innovating AYA care.

She was diagnosed with cancer in 2021, which makes her an adolescent and young adult (AYA) herself. This gives her the unique opportunity to incorporate her own experiences into her everyday work and research.

Daphne earned her PhD back in 2020 titled: “Outcome following Traumatic Brain Injury: Assessment and Preferences”, which was part of the Collaborative European NeuroTrauma Effectiveness Research in Traumatic Brain Injury (CENTER-TBI) research project. Right after this, Daphne started working as a postdoctoral researcher at Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM) at Erasmus University Rotterdam and developed a multi-dimensional well-being instrument called the 10-item well-being instrument (WiX). In addition, she worked as a project manager for the ALIVE flagship which is part of Convergence.

Lastly, in 2025 Daphne won the NVTAG-prize, in 2024 she was granted 13,500 euros through the InterAction Lines Grant by Smarter Choices for Better Health to do research in individuals with low literacy and in 2023 she won the Erasmus Impact Journey.
