Christy Los

During my studies I have always been interested in Immunology, Oncology and Hematology. I started following extracurricular courses and enrolled in a second Master to, in addition to my medical education, gain more scientific insight into these subjects.

After graduating medical school at the VU University, I worked as a resident not in training at the Medical Oncology Division (MOD) / department of Internal Medicine at Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (AvL) Hospital in Amsterdam. During this time, I gained valuable clinical experience and aspired to contribute to cancer research.

In August 2023, I joined the group of John Haanen as a MD-PhD student. Here, my projects will focus on tumor infiltrating lymphocytes as a therapeutic option for patients with advanced melanoma, expanding our knowledge and working towards further improvements in this promising therapy.
