Bibian Been

Bibian Been is a PhD candidate at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Erasmus Medical Center. She dedicates her research to the COMPRAYA study, identifying the risk factors and working mechanisms of impaired health-related outcomes in adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients. With a background in biomedical sciences (BSc & MSc Leiden University), she specifically focuses on the gaps in AYA research relating to biological predisposition and biomarkers. Additionally, Bibian is passionate about bridging the gap between science and society, and has specialized towards science communication during her Master’s Degree (Leiden University). She intertwines this interest with the AYA topic in her role as Communication Advisor at the AYA zorgnetwerk and the upcoming research to the Kanker.nl/Jong platform for AYA patients (a project within the COMPRAYA study).
