My research focus is on the influence of cancer and cancer treatments on physical and psychosocial functioning in patients on treatment and in long-term survivors. I have a special interest in patients treated with immunotherapy and the development of personalized follow-up models.

I received a KWF grant to study prostate cancer follow-up care. In this study, clinical outcomes and patient reported outcomes are compared between specialist-based follow-up care to general practitioner-based follow-up care. Moreover, I participate in a European Horizon2020 project called Cancer Patients Better Life Experience and I am principal investigator of several (clinical) studies in which we investigate quality of life during and after immunotherapy in high-risk and advanced melanoma patients.

Finally, I co-supervise PhD projects in prostate and melanoma cancer patients.
