Amirun Rahmat is a PhD student at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and Erasmus MC. His research focuses on the RESPECT project, which aims to improve the inclusivity of cancer-related quality-of-life measures. Specifically, his work explores how gendered language in these measures may contribute to the exclusion or misrepresentation of gender minorities. He explores strategies to adapt gendered language while maintaining the quality and reliability of the measures.

Amirun holds a cum laude master's degree in Population Health Management from Leiden University. During his studies, he worked on several projects focusing on health among marginalized communities. Through these experiences, he discovered a strong interest in health equity and is dedicated to inclusive research practices. This commitment continues to guide his academic work, which currently focuses on Sexual and Gender Minority/LGBTQIA+ health.
