Each project begins with a discussion of the research question, the available sample and the level of structural information required. Together, we can develop a workflow that includes:
- project consultation, sample assessment and optimization
- vitrification using the Vitrobot Mark IV
- cryo-EM grid screening
- in-house single-particle cryo-EM data collection and analysis
- high-resolution data collection at NeCEN
- image processing, 3D reconstruction and map interpretation
The facility works closely with the B8 Biochemistry Department, the Protein Facility and the RHPC facility. This collaboration connects sample preparation, microscopy and the computational resources required for modern EM analysis.
