World Cancer Day: how we fight cancer (and COVID-19)

04-02-2021

Today, on World Cancer Day, countless organizations speak out and stand up for a cancer-free world. Throughout the day our Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital organizes online activities for cancer patients, focused on COVID-19 and cancer. Cancer and corona is also the focus of an interesting new study that is being started up by a Dutch consortium, of which the Netherlands Cancer Institute is part. It studies the effect of vaccination against COVID-19 in cancer patients. As cancer patients were not represented in the registration trials, a study is being set up just for them. Learn more about the trial in this video with our group leader John Haanen.
