He will succeed prof. dr. René Medema, who will start as a member of the Executive Board/Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of the Princess Máxima Center for children’s oncology as of April 1, 2024. Schumacher has been a part of the NKI and Oncode Institute since 1996 as a group leader in molecular oncology and immunology. He is also professor of immunotechnology at Leiden UMC.
