Researcher Zuhir Bodalal Building Bridges: The Need for Mentors and Multidisciplinarity in Oncology

Zuhir Bodalal, PhD candidate in the Department of Radiology, intended to become a trauma surgeon. This was in the days of the Libyan conflict and most of his patients had gunshot injuries or shrapnel wounds. He also received many patients with acute oncologic emergencies this was the moment decided to make a career switch towards oncology. Now, he is a at The Netherlands Cancer Institute. He was selected for the ASCO Virtual Mentoring Program and was now asked to write an article about his experiences and vision as an oncologist.
