PhD defence Alessandra Buoninfante: DNA damage tolerance and personalized cancer medicine

04-07-2018

Alessandra Buoninfante studied the overall relevance of the DNA-damage tolerance (DDT) pathways for mammals and its contribution to hematopoietic stem cell maintenance and tissue homeostasis, reporting a new embryonic and synthetic lethality. Moreover, she unveiled that tumor-specific DDT-aberrations can be exploited to predict tumor responsiveness and improve sequencing-based personalized cancer medicine.
