The NKI has opened a call for two positions: one for a (junior) group leader in a research topic that synergizes with the ongoing research at the NKI and another one with a focus on immunology/inflammation.
Research groups at the NKI are supported by state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, most with dedicated support staff, such as a genomics facility, an automated functional screening facility, excellent facilities for bioimaging, flow cytometry, and protein expression and purification. The institute also has a large mouse facility with dedicated support staff and with special units for transgenesis, pathology, functional imaging, and intervention studies. The cancer hospital has a strong clinical trial program offering unique opportunities for clinical and translational cancer research. Translational research is facilitated by a large repository of well-annotated tumor samples and a core facility for molecular pathology. More information about the research facilities can be found on the facilities page of this website.
Approximately 650 people work in the research laboratories. All of our research meetings are in English and a large number of non-Dutch post-docs, students and staff members contribute to the open, collaborative, and international atmosphere of the institute.
We offer a stimulating and interactive research environment, use of all state-of-the-art facilities, a competitive salary and additional support to start a research group. Junior group leaders will be offered a 5 year appointment. After 4 years they will be evaluated for a tenured position. Group leaders will be offered a permanent position with support to transfer their research to the NKI.
On this website you can find more information about the institute, its research program, research groups and facilities. You can also contact the recruiting committee indicated on the posters. Applications, including a detailed curriculum vitae and a 2-4 page outline of the research program, should be addressed to the Director of Research, prof. René Medema, and electronically sent to his secretary Marianne van Wieringen-Diepeveen (director@nki.nl). The closing date is October 31, 2019. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
The NKI will open a new call for applicants at the end of 2020; the exact date will be communicated later.
