Brain cancer covered

19-01-2021

NKI scientist Mark de Gooijer had the honor of designing the cover of Cell Reports Medicine’s latest edition! It is all about leaky blood vessels in brain tumors letting drugs through, and drug transporters pumping them back to where they came from, hampering their efficacy. Read all about it, in this new Van Tellingen group paper.

Figure: Drugs (green) circulating in the blood stream (red) enter the tumor through a leaky vessel wall. Drug transporters (yellow) in the blood vessel wall pump the drugs back to the blood stream. Cancer cells in orange, brain and immune cells in green and purple. (These images were generated using Servier Medical Art under a CC BY 3.0 License)
