Annual dinner for female NKI groupleaders and professors

16-05-2018

Last night the annual dinner for female NKI groupleaders and professors took place. Led by Drs. Marien van der Meer - Board of Directors The Netherlands Cancer Institute - the aim of the dinner is to bring female leadership to the attention and to inspire each other.

The Netherlands Cancer Institute has 12 female group leaders (55 in total) and 6 professors (45 in total). These women are inspiring examples of female leadership, also for young research and clinical talent. A few examples:

Annual Dinner
  • Dr. Floor van Leeuwen won the 17th Rosalind E. Award for Women in Science from the US National Cancer Institute;
  • Prof. Regina Beets is the first female president of the women European Society of Oncological Imaging;
  • Dr. Karin de Visser is the first female member of the Oncode Research Management Committee;
  • Prof. Gemma Kenter gives her valedictorian speech as professor of gynecological oncology on December 7th.
