Matthias Altmeyer is Associate Professor of Quantitative Cell Biology at the University of Zurich (Switzerland). He studied Biology at the University of Konstanz (Germany) and received his PhD from the Molecular Life Sciences Program of the ETH/UZH Life Science Zurich Graduate School. After postdoctoral research at the Danish Cancer Society and at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research, University of Copenhagen (Denmark), he started his own lab at the University of Zurich in 2014 with a research focus on cellular mechanisms of genome integrity maintenance. Together with his research group Matthias investigates cellular responses to replication stress and DNA damage, mechanisms of PARP inhibitor sensitivity and resistance, and the regulation and function of protein condensates at DNA break sites.
