The Biology of MHC Molecules

Jacques Neefjes

Jacques Neefjes came to the NKI in 1991 and became group leader in 1993. In 2016 he moved to Leiden University Medical Center. He has been studying the molecular and cell biology of antigen processing and presentation by MHC class I and MHC class II molecules. He and his team has solved many steps in our current understanding of the MHC class I and MHC class II cell biology. He also developed other lines of research including the relationship between bacterial infections and cancer.
