The DNA Gala 2023 exceeded all expectations

What a successful evening it was! And what a fantastic amount was raised during the DNA Gala on Saturday, November 25. This amount will be spent on research into early detection at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek.

The grand fundraising gala that took place in the Amsterdam RAI was organized to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Netherlands Cancer Institute. During the gala, guests could enjoy a delicious dinner that was interspersed with performances by, among others, Edsilia Rombley and the Sonny's Inc entertainment band. The evening was musically enhanced by the talented pianist Iris Hond. Media personality Paul de Leeuw was the host of the evening.

Early diagnostics

Prof. Dr. Theo Ruers, oncological surgeon and head of the Center for Early Diagnostics at the NKI, and Mara Blonden, manager of the Center for Early Diagnostics, explained what the evening was all about: research into early detection. Thanks to earlier detection of cancer, treatments and cure rates can be further improved.

At the end of the evening, bids could be placed on exclusive auction items and guests could participate in a raffle. Thanks to many generous sponsors, a fantastic amount has been raised, which will be used to conduct further research.

We would like to thank the DNA Gala Foundation, all sponsors and of course the volunteers, without whom this evening would not have been possible, for their great contribution and efforts.

Thank you very much!
