Postdoc in the Lindeboom lab to study TCR : antigen interactions

Function description

The research group of Rik Lindeboom is a newly established laboratory that uses quantitative biology to understand the interaction between tumor cells and the immune system. Our lab provides a fresh and vibrant environment where we integrate state-of-the-art proteomics and genomics technologies with advanced data analysis workflows to characterize the interaction between cancer and immune cells. An important underlying linchpin in our lab is the use of absolute quantification of abundances and interaction strengths, which make them suitable for predictive and quantitative modeling of the interaction between immune cells and diseased cancer cells.

Responsibilities
We are looking for a candidate that will develop a method to test interactions between thousands of antigens and T cell receptors (TCRs) as part of a recently funded NWO ENW M1 grant. In this context, the applicant will be responsible for the development of a genetic library to produce barcoded recombinant MHC class I molecules loaded with hundreds to thousands of antigens, which will be used to study antigen recognition by T cells and their TCRs using single cell sequencing. A successful applicant will interact with other researchers in our team and department, supervise PhD and master students, present and communicate scientific results, and be involved in the writing of grants and scientific papers.

Job requirements

We seek to recruit an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoc with affinity for biochemistry, immunology and molecular biology. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team are essential. Proven wet-lab experience with molecular cloning is a requirement. Previous experience with protein engineering, data analysis, and T cell biology would be advantageous.

Compensation

The gross salary per month will range from €4.324 ,- to a maximum of € 4.842 ,- according to salary scale FWG 55, depending on your experience. The terms of employment will be in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Hospitals which includes a fixed end-of-year bonus (8,33%) and  8,33% holiday pay.
